Large-scale painting built through repetition, rupture, and return.

The Artist
Slater's work develops through successive bodies of painting, each pushing against the limits of the last. Rooted in the New York School tradition, the work is built through scale, surface, and sustained physical engagement. Mixed media, oil and acrylic. Prepared grounds. Painting that carries its own weight without explanation.
The practice is formal and relentless. A refusal to stop at the familiar. A willingness to break what has been built and begin again.
Thirteen paintings produced in an unheated studio on the Provincetown waterfront during the winter of 2025–2026.
A shift in structure and surface. A break from previous work. The beginning of a new direction.
Tadhg Slater is represented by White Porch Gallery, Provincetown — their newest addition and a statement of intent for the gallery’s commitment to bold, uncompromising work.
The Concrete Winter series opens Memorial Day weekend at White Porch Gallery, Provincetown, with an opening reception. On view for 60 days.
